The shade Bouncy is a lovely MLBB tint. The stain has a fruity smell and a minty sensation when applied (which I assume contributes to the plumping factor). I wouldn't say this stain is very hydrating, but it does form a film on the lips. I like to put a lip balm or gloss on top. The stain has decent staying power, but if you eat or drink heavily, re-application may be necessary. It goes on sheer and is buildable. This doesn't have a smoothing effect on the lips like similar products from Peripera, rom&nd or The Saem, so make sure to exfoliate your lips prior to application. Laka has such a great variety of shades/colors to choose from and a little goes on a long way due to the strength of pigment, so it's definitely worth checking out! I love that it's a stain, so I don't have to worry about reapplication over and over again like with lipsticks and glosses.

Okay, so I was really excited to try this LAKA Popping Balloon Lip Stain in the shade #512 Sizzling. Between the name and the claims, I was ready for juicy, glossy, “main character walking out of a K-drama” lips. Spoiler alert: it’s cute, but it didn’t quite pop my balloon. 🎈

Let’s start with the positives — because there are some!
When you first apply it, this formula feels amazing. It’s got that smooth, bouncy, almost whipped-gel texture that glides on like a dream. It gives instant moisture, that little lip-plumper tingle (not painful, just the “did I eat a mint?” kind), and the color payoff is actually pretty strong for something marketed as a tint. Once it sets, it looks more like a glossy lipstick than your typical sheer stain. My lips felt hydrated the whole time I wore it, and even after removing it, they didn’t feel dry or chapped — major points for that.

Now for the “meh” part.
This formula says it stays put all day, but for me… not so much. Within about 30 minutes, I noticed it transferring onto my cup, straw, and even my sandwich. After 4–6 hours, it was basically gone, leaving my lips back to their natural color. It’s not the worst wear time, but definitely not the long-lasting tint it promises.

The finish also looked slightly patchy on me, even after trying a few different ways to apply (one thin coat, two coats, reapply halfway through the day — you name it). It never looked fully smooth. The berry shade is gorgeous, but it ended up being just a little too dark against my olive/tan skin tone, which made the unevenness stand out more.

As for the plumping part — my lips are already on the fuller side, and neither I nor my husband noticed any real difference there. Just a tiny tingle and some shine.

Overall, this is one of those products that feels luxe and hydrating but doesn’t quite deliver on the long-lasting or even-coverage claims. If you’re okay with reapplying and just want something moisturizing and glossy that won’t dry you out, it’s worth a try. But if you’re hunting for a true stain that lasts through your iced coffee and lunch break — this one’s not it.

This lip stain is a pretty plum/berry tinted red color. I found the gloss to be non sticky. There is a slight plumping effect and a tingling sensation from the gloss, but nothing extreme.

The tint does leave a nice stain if wiped/worn away. I found the tint to be buildable by purposefully wiping it away after initial application and reapplying. The longevity is good, and the tint that is left looks nice simply under chapstick, so this product would be good for a busy day.

My only real issue with it is that it likes to apply unevenly to dry patches, and stains them darker than the rest of the lips when it is worn away. So you want to make sure to properly prep the lips first if needed.

This stain is very good for me personally. I liked the color and the application was smooth but didn't last very long. I did have to have several applications and didn't really see a plumping effect but I felt it was a very good gloss. I gave it a 4 star rating due to no plumping effect. Otherwise, this is a gloss/stain that I would recommend.
